Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The autumn/winter collection is Diaz's second for the brand. She joined the label in 2013 as Artistic Director and has had a hands on approach to the collaboration.
Unlike many other celebrity/brand endeavours Diaz hasn't put her face to the brand and as she owns an undisclosed stake in the label's parent company her role is more than just a passing fad. Instead she has been fully immersed in all elements of the design process.
“When I first [started working on the Pour La Victoire shoe collection], the fashion at the moment was really high, high platforms. It wasn’t something I was wearing necessarily because I have so much height already" commented Diaz
"I’m such a stickler for shoes and function. And that’s what we are getting back to with this line — function. Because functionally you want something that looks good on the foot but stays on the foot and doesn't require a lot of work to do so.”
Whereas Diaz's first collection for the label was arguably a playing it safe range with neutral colours and basic styles, for autumn/winter she's taken a more stylised approach with pops of colour and more modern, fashion forward shapes.
Pour La Victoire is a New York Label founded in 2007. It's dedicated to thoughtful design - with practicality and comfort taking precedence.
