Best-selling beauty products of the moment (US): product combination sets still all the hype
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.US beauty shoppers are willing to spend again, and combination sets are still hot, according to Sephora's lists of topselling products.
Skincare products featured on both the 'Natural & Organic' and 'Skincare' top-three rankings are taking shoppers back by hundreds of dollars (Caudalie's Premier Cru La Crème costs $150 and Tanda Clear's Acne Light Therapy Treatment $250, for example), potentially indicating an upward trend in consumers' confidence and an increasing willingness to spend.
Meanwhile, another trend could be indicating the opposite: product combination sets, which save shoppers a lot of money, are still all the hype, with kits being featured in almost all categories, ranging from fragrance to skincare, hair and makeup.
Other tendances include increased sales of Christmas presents, quite early on in the holiday shopping period (in skincare, a gift set even tops the charts), the popularity of solid perfume jewelry (such as Marc Jacobs's Daisy necklace), and a new hair removal tool that finally seems to be succeeding the no!no! hair remover: the Silk'n SensEpil.
Bestsellers in Europe (France) as well as in Asia (China) seem to be stagnating -- whether this is due to technical difficulties or the very steady popularity of products, is not yet clear.
