Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Fashion and football aren't the most likely bedfellows, but a collaboration between high fashion house Lanvin and football team Arsenal might just change things.
A new image released today shows players from the club Calum Chambers, Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, David Ospina, Theo Walcott, Mathieu Flamini and Mesut Ozil sat front row whilst a model struts past.
The official portrait celebrates the collaboration between Arsenal football club and Lanvin who has been outfitting the team for official club appearances since 2013.
The suits worn by the players are designed by Lanvin's menswear director Lucas Ossendrijver and include a red rose tie pin and a gold Arsenal crest on a midnight blue suit with slim fit shirt and a handmade red silk tie.
Cufflinks engraved with the famous Arsenal cannon complete the look.
A good dose of glamour is provided by model Olga Sherer who wears a look from the spring/summer 2015 Lanvin Femme collection in the portait.
Chambers, Wilshere, Arteta, Ospina, Walcott, Flamini and Ozil aren't the first footballers to lend their faces to a fashion brand - David Beckham is famous for his fashion collaborations with the likes of Armani and H&M and both Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique have fronted fashion campaigns.
