Your support makes all the difference.Anna Sorokin, the fake heiress who scammed banks, hotels, wealthy friends, and financial institutions before being arrested in 2017, has returned to social media after being released from prison on parole on 11 February.
“Prison is so exhausting, you wouldn’t know,” Sorokin, who also goes by the name Anna Delvey, wrote on Instagram, alongside a black-and-white photo of her in bed wearing sunglasses. She also posted a still from the film Basic Instinct with the caption, “Pleading the fifth”.
Sorokin also created a new Twitter account with a link to her blog. Her blog, titled “Anna Delvey Diaries”, contains accounts of upstate New York prison life during Covid-19 (”Being in prison mostly feels like extended quarantining, only with a bunch of murderers, and we still can get our hair done”) and advice for former President Donald Trump, who is facing a number of lawsuits in New York City.
“Getting arrested can at first seem extremely inconvenient,” she wrote in a lengthy post titled “Rikers Island 101 for Donald Trump”.
“I’m not going to embellish anything – I was very annoyed,” she wrote. “I mean really bummed out to the point of no return when it happened – can’t they see that I’m busy? That I got things to do, places to get to? There is hardly a ruder way to cut into someone’s plans than to arrest them. Maybe being told that you’re the father comes somewhat close. I wouldn’t know.
“Rikers is just stop number one and you won’t be kept here for too long,” she continued. “Therefore, while you’re here, try to explore as much as possible and see the entire compound, which will soon be turned into a museum. Consider it an early VIP preview, like at Art Basel. How many of your friends can say that?”
The forthcoming Netflix series, Inventing Anna, where Ms Sorokin will be played by Ozark star Julia Garner, has resumed production after a delay due to the coronavirus.
