At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The highly anticipated designer/high-street collaboration between Alexander Wang and H&M has been revealed in full today ahead of its launch next month.
Since the collection by New York’s favourite sports luxe designer for the affordable Swedish brand was announced back in April, many teaser images have been posted on social media suggesting Wang would stay true to his sporty aesthetic.
The first full look from the collection was seen on Rihanna during New York Fashion Week last month and subsequently three more full looks followed on social media.
Today the collection has been unveiled in full and as the pop star’s outfit and teasers suggested, the collection for men and womenswear certainly embraces the streetwear influenced edge that Wang is known for. It includes scuba dresses, sweatshirts, mesh-paneled leggings, cropped bra-tops, leather joggers, parkas and beanies.
With a few weeks to go, fans can now scroll through the lookbook and get excited about exactly which pieces of Wang designs they’ll be aiming to pick up for a bargain high street price tag.
Wang said: "I wanted to design true performance pieces that are within the natural price points of sportswear of H&M, so we were able to create the best version of these pieces, through our vocabulary.”
The women’s collection includes over 35 garments of athletic performance wear, essentials, outerwear and accessories, mainly all embossed with the designer’s initials: AW.
This is set to be Wang’s “first ever versatile performance garments” to be worn “on the street, in the gym and at the club”. The collection lands in 250 H&M stores worldwide and online on 6 November.
