Your support helps us to tell the story

This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

The Independent is trusted by 27 million Americans from across the entire political spectrum every month. Unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock you out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. But quality journalism must still be paid for.

Help us keep bring these critical stories to light. Your support makes all the difference.

From welcoming its first transgender designer to ushering in glitter makeup at Rodarte, New York Fashion Week 2019 is proving that creativity shows no sign of waning for autumn/winter 2019.

And while we might still have Bella Hadid’s studio 54-inspired Ralph Lauren dress and Tom Ford’s anti-Tump message in our minds, we can’t help but draw out attention to the spectators at this year’s shows.

A quick look at the front row (FROW) and you’ll quickly be able to decipher the hierarchy of elite members of the fashion industry.

The FROW is traditionally reserved for magazine, fashion and news editors, as well as retail buyers, stylists, designer muses (for example Calvin Klein’s Millie Bobby Brown and Balmain’s Cara Delevingne), Hollywood actress, models, and singers.

From Stranger Things’ Natalia Dyer to British model Poppy Delevingne, click on the gallery below to see all the celebrities perched on the FROW at NYFW 2019.
