From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Net-a-Porter has announced the arrival of childrenswear to its lineup.

But, this isn’t just any old range because the luxury e-tailer has joined forces with Gucci to sell mini versions of the Italian label’s playful pieces.

Launching on 16 July, the pop-up shop will be available for six weeks only and includes offerings for babies, girls and boys up to age 12, and unisex options.

The childrenswear lineup will feature everything from smocks and dresses to baby grows and footwear, all reimagined in Gucci’s eclectic aesthetic.

Celebrating the brand’s visuals, each garment taps into Gucci’s multi-layered palette and runway collections including a pink party dress emblazoned with a roaring embellished tiger, striped blazer and graphic T-shirts complete with a serpent design.

“The kidswear pop-up on Net-a-Porter is such an exciting moment for us,” says Alison Loehnis, president at Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter.

Supported by a dedicated campaign entitled The Imagination Booth, the collection of illustrated animations and Gucci motifs is sported by a group of children to make the ultimate mini-me statement as they explore an antiquated photobooth.

“It’s our first foray into the category, and we’ve found the perfect partner in Gucci. With Mr Porter’s kidswear project also underway, this really marks the beginning of something special,” Loehnis adds.

Gucci kidswear will launch on Net-a-Porter.com on 16 July, igniting rumours that a permanent childrenswear collection could be in the works.
