Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

After New York kicked off September Fashion Week in showstopping style last week, all eyes are now on London. But before the shows begin in earnest, the fashion set toast the new season trends at a handful of exclusive parties. On the eve of LFW two of the hottest tickets in town were the H! by Henry Holland party and the Melissa x Westwood Anglomania bash. No invite? Not to worry, we were there. So sit back and let us take you behind the scenes.

Henry Holland’s celebration set the scene for his upcoming catwalk show with a pop-up shop offering the designer’s signature bold slogan tees. Singer Vanessa White sung his praises explaining, “What I love about Henry Holland is he’s so out there”.

Meanwhile at the Melissa x Westwood Anglomania event we got a snapshot of some futuristic footwear. Guests included Ella Eyre and DJ Princess Julia, who shared her perspective on Fashion Week in the capital: “Creativity makes London a standout city”. Our thoughts exactly, Princess.
