Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. After months of anticipation, Love Island is back on UK screens – and viewers are already discussing how they can emulate the islanders’ distinctive style.
From the neon swimsuits and mesh cover-ups to the glitzy dresses and colourful co-ords, fashion fans can get their hands on almost every item worn by participants on the ITV2 reality show via I SAW IT FIRST, its new sponsor for 2019.
Last year Love Island had a similar partnership with Missguided, prompting a 40 per cent rise in sales for the online fashion brand with specific items seen on the show spiking up to 500 per cent in terms of sales.
Clearly, the Love Island look is one that is highly sought-after.
Fans can purchase outfits as worn by the cast from either ISAWITFIRST.com, which was founded in Manchester in 2017, or via the Love Island app.
After the first episode of series five aired on Monday 3 June, a number of outfits as seen on the show were immediately available to buy, including Amy Hart’s blue under strap bikini and Amber Gill’s white button front ribbed bikini.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Love Island this year,” says Leanne Holmes, brand director at ISAWITFIRST.com, who describes the brand’s aesthetic as “perfectly aligned with that of Love Island”.
