From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Despite the uncertainty caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the cancellation of numerous events over the past few months, London Fashion Week has officially begun in the English capital.
In August, the British Fashion Council released a provisional schedule for the biannual event, with shows featuring a mix of menswear and womenswear, following the cancellation of the menswear fashion shows in June.
To kick things off, Burberry is opening London Fashion Week with a nature-inspired showcase, one that the British fashion label has previously said will be an “immersive show experience".
Here is everything you need to know.
Where can you watch the Burberry show at London Fashion Week?
The Burberry fashion show at London Fashion Week is being streamed live on Twitch.
The show will feature the fashion label’s spring/summer 2021 collection, helmed by chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci.
Rather than a traditional runway show, this year Burberry will be releasing a film to showcase its new collection.
Speaking about the show in June, the luxury fashion house explained that the inspiration for the collection came from “the purity and simplicity of the outdoors”.
“Set in the British outdoors, the spring/summer 2021 collection will come to life on the 17 September as a live physical presentation that is open for all to experience digitally – opening new spaces to our global community as we reconnect with nature and each other,” the brand said.
Tisci expressed his hope that the show, which will take place in an outdoor location with no guests in attendance, will help “bring our community together in a creative experience that takes place within the beautiful natural landscape of Britain”.

What time is the show taking place?
The showcase of Burberry’s spring/summer collection will begin at 1pm BST on Thursday 17 September.
However, the show will officially start at 12.30pm, when it will be introduced by hosts Erykah Badhu, Rosalía, Steve Lacy and Bella Hadid.
What other fashion labels are putting on shows during London Fashion Week?
London Fashion Week is featuring online shows and physical appointments this September.
Fashion labels including Halpern, Paul Costelloe and Victoria Beckham are all aiming to go ahead with both online shows and physical appointments.
While brands including Molly Goddard and Simone Rocha had originally hoped to host small “salon-style shows”, they will now be holding a limited number of one-on-one appointments instead.
