Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Launched exclusively online on July 13, Eve is a fruity floriental that features top notes of grapefruit flower and redcurrant, a heart of wild rose, jasmine, and violet as well as a dry-down composed of cashmere wood and patchouli.
"What I like about this new fragrance is that it is very self-assured," says German actress Karoline Herfurth, the scent's spokesmodel who rose to fame in her native country thanks to the movie adaptation of Patrick Süskind's Perfume novel, "it's very soft and very light, but never superficial. It has an unbelievable depth."
Eve won't be released in stores until September, but the first batch of bottles can now be purchased at store.jilsander.com. The fragrance is going head to head with Elie Saab's first signature scent, Oh, Lola! by Marc Jacobs, and Coach's Poppy Flower, which also launch this month.
