The British actor, who stars as Tahani Al-Jamil on hit NBC comedy The Good Place, attended the 76th Golden Globe Awards tonight at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California.
For the star-studded event, Jamil chose to wear a bright coral dress designed by Monique Lhuillier but underneath the layers of gorgeous pink tulle, Jamil had added an extra item of clothing to avoid the evening chill.
“An experienced woman wears jeans under her Golden Globes gown because it’s forking COLD,” the actor wrote on Twitter alongside a video where she revealed the hidden garment during her limo ride to the awards show.
On Instagram, the 32-year-old added: “Wearing jeans under my gown because I refuse to be cold for fashion,” before flashing a glimpse of her blue denim.
The actor showed off her fashion hack once more when she hit the red carpet with the help of her co-star William Jackson Harper.
Jamil’s fans couldn't get enough of the clever trick and praised Jamil for “keeping it real”.
“This is why we forking love you”, one person wrote.
Another added: “Love that you are wearing jeans underneath haha legend."
A third person commented: “I've worn thermals under a tux before. No judgement here.”
To accessorise her flowing dress and jeans combo, Jamil carried a clutch the featured a Time’s Up X2 ribbon, in support of the movement against sexual harassment in the workforce.
“Celebrating @timesupnow effort to double the amount of women and minorities at the helm of Hollywood and the height of all women industries,” she wrote on her Instagram story.
