Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.French fashion house Mugler's creative director Nicola Formichetti is not one to shy away from a good publicity gig to steer up excitement for his shows, having used appearances of his muse Lady Gaga and tatto-covered model Rick Genest in the past. For his men's show in Paris this week, he is steering things in a kinkier direction.
Leading up to the show on June 22, Formichetti has announced he will post teasers of a short film to go with his collection, which will then premiere in an "uncensored" version on user-generated porn site Xtube.com the day after.
Called "Brothers of Arcadia" and directed by Branislav Jancic, the film is inspired by Greek gods, Formichetti has said, and will feature an appearance by the band Jessica 6.
"I liked the idea of modern and ancient myths," Formichetti explained in an interview. "I live in New York but grew up in Rome with the baroque and classical architecture and sculpture everywhere. So I suppose this project is a combination of the two things; there are surfers, footballers and classical gods all rolled into one in this film."
