Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The British clothing brand has announced it will release the two ranges that the late singer designed prior to her death.

Having said earlier that it would only go ahead after consulting with Winehouse's family, Fred Perry issued a statement saying that next year's spring and fall collections would both be made available.

Amy's father, Mitch Winehouse, stated: "When Fred Perry came to us to ask what we would like to do with the new collection it was natural to continue...Amy loved working on both collections, and would want them to be made available. All the money we make and the donation that Fred Perry will give will go straight into to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which we are setting up to help children and young people in her name."

The collections are expected to again carry the singer's signature 1950s-inspired rockabilly vibe. "Amy was passionate and dedicated to the collaboration, and her signature style is clearly stamped across each piece," Fred Perry said.
