Barcelona display some fine technique as Lionel Messi scores three times, and Atlanta Hawks players tease one of their team-mates.

Following Canada's Winter Olympic gold in ice hockey, the NHL has had its share of players delivering hits to the head. Here, the Chicago Blackhawks' Brent Seabrook floors Corey Perry of the Anaheim Ducks unpunished, and in the following seconds the Ducks' defenceman James Wisniewski piles into Seabrook, checking him high against the boards. Seabrook missed the next two games through injury, Wisniewski was suspended for eight.

2) Steve Downie's Cheap Shot On Sidney Crosby - 436,324 total views
Controversial circumstances in ice hockey continue, as Steve Downie of the Tampa Bay Lightning takes out leading scorer Sid Crosby during the Lightning's recent match against the Pittsburgh Penguins. As they jostle for position along one side of the rink, Downie appears to lose his footing but nevertheless pulled Crosby into an awkward position, buckling his knee at a painful angle.

3) FC Barcelona vs Valencia 3-0 [14/03/10] - 474,694 total views
Argentinian star Lionel Messi bags a hatrick for Barcelona against Valencia in the Spain's top football league. After several close calls for Valencia in the first half, Messi makes his mark in the second, evading three challenges in quick succession before tucking home, picking up a beautifully floating cross from Henry for the second, and Barcelona capitalize on a loose ball with wonderful technique to set up his third.

4) KHL: Fan attacks the goalkeeper Kolesnik - 397,300 total views
Scenes from the Kontinental Hockey League during a Gagarin Cup match between Russian teams Avtomobilist Yekaterinburgh and Salavat Yulaev. A drunken spectator had made his way past the glass barriers that cordon off the team benches and protect fans from rogue pucks, and hit one of the Avtomobilist players around the head several times with a hockey stick.

5) Herb Pope punches Darko Cohadarevic in the groin - 375,525 total views
Darko Cohadarevic of the Texas Tech Red Raiders college basketball team crumples to the ground after receiving a jab to the groin from the Seton Hall Pirates' forward Herb Pope. Related footage indicates that Pope had executed a similar though less debilitating manoeuvre on Cohadarevic just a few seconds before at the other end of the court.

6) David Beckham injury - Achilles tendon - 346,632 total views
Televised footage from the Italian Premiera Division match between Inter Milan vs Chievo on March 14, focusing on the moment that England star and on-loan Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham tore the Achilles tendon in his left leg. Unmarked, he turned to pass the ball off to another player and immediately showed his discomfort.

7) Josh Smith touching Mike Bibby - 361,586 total views
Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks puts the smooth moves on team-mate Mike Bibby during a team talk from coach Mike Woodson. Starting with a firm pat on the shoulder, he then progresses to a tap on the back of the head, and finds a resting place back on Bibby's shoulder. Bibby appears upset by the advances. Zaza Pachulia joins in the fun with a gentle squeeze.

8) Matt Frattin DESTROYS Kevin Wehrs - 316,792 total views
Minnesota University's Golden Gophers hockey team seek on-ice reparations from North Dakota's Matt Frattin who took his eyes off the puck to engineer a forceful collision with the Gophers' Kevin Wehrs. Scuffles break out perilously close to the fallen man. Eventually, a five minute major penalty is given to Frattin after Wehrs makes his way back to the dressing room.

9) David Beckham tears Achilles tendon - 314,604 total views
Another video of Beckham's injury incident, which rules him out of this summer's FIFA World Cup Finals and prevents him from becoming the first English footballer to play in four consecutive World Cups. Having since had restorative surgery in Finland, he is expected to regain fitness by September, six months' time, whereas the Finals start in just under three. Nonetheless, England coach Fabio Capello has suggested that Beckham will be invited to travel with the squad.

10) Alexander Ovechkin injures Brian Campbell - 355,197 total views
Brian Campbell of the Chicago Blackhawks finds himself through on goal during the March 14 ice hockey game against the Washington Capitals. Ovechkin, the Capitals' captain, sprints over, first reaching for the puck with his hockey stick and then, as Campbell looks up to assess his options, shoving him into the boards. Campbell is out for two months with a fractured rib and broken collarbone, and Ovechkin was given a two game suspension.
