Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Victoria Beckham has long been a permanent fixture on the celeb circuit since the early ‘Posh Spice’ days, but she is now most widely recognised for conquering the catwalk following the launch of her eponymous label in 2008.

She has gained critical acclaim for her designs, winning the ‘designer of the year award’ at the 2011 British Fashion Awards and opened her first standalone store in Dover Street last year.

Despite her more recent high fashion reputation, she has actually been prevalent in the fashion world for many years. In 2004, she collaborated with Rock and Republic to launch her VB Rocks jeans range, and had her first catwalk appearance in 2000 when she appeared on the runway at London Fashion Week for designer Maria Grachvogel and again in 2006 for close friend Roberto Cavalli.

Not only is she part of one of Britain’s most famous families, she continues to dominate column inches for her sense of style. Her rise up the fashion ranks are evidenced through landing three Vogue covers; in the UK, India and Russia over the space of 12 months, as well as judging the prestigious Woolmark prize since 2012.

Having previously landed modelling campaigns with Marc Jacobs and Emporio Armani, Mrs Beckham has had a wealth of exposure across the industry. Her simple and classic designs continue to change the way women are dressing, and highlight her own evolution through fashion. Starting with simple dresses, her label now spans five different categories including, Ready to Wear, Victoria, Victoria Beckham, Eyewear, Accessories and Denim.

Happy birthday to Victoria Beckham.
