Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

We love… Urban beach

Ferociously chic fashion consultant Yasmin Sewell has teamed up with Paper Mache Tiger to open a curated boutique in London’s Shoreditch, featuring a hip mix of designers and artists. Farfetch.com is hosting a virtual version. Beach In The East, 123 Clifton St, London EC2A

We’re not sure about…Smurf styling

The newest trend in haircare this season is temporary colours in Technicolor shades of blue, yellow and green. An immediate and ingenious way to cobble together a new hairdo, some may say, but licking your locks with lurid hues is a hair-brained grooming habit we won’t be getting on board with. Paintbox in turquoise blue, £9.25, Fudge; fudgehair.co.uk

We’re buying… Mario’s Mate

Mario Testino has turned his talents to fashion design for a collection of clothing and accessories available from Net-a-porter.com. A percentage of the sales is being donated to Mate, the institution founded by Testino to promote arts in his birthplace of Lima, Peru. Mario Testino for Mate, from £115, net-a-porter.com

We can’t wait for…Festival fresh

Here at the Audit we are eagerly anticipating the start of festival season – but the one aspect of musical gatherings we can do without is the questionable hygiene. Luckily, Birchbox is at hand with its June box of festival essentials to help you make it through Glasto et al smelling of roses. Birchbox, £10 per month; birchbox.co.uk

We’re visiting… Clothing comebacks

Drippy, hippy Brit label Fenn Wright Manson is enjoying a long-overdue makeover this season. A new head of ladieswear is on board alongside a fresh design team, piloting the brand in a more contemporary direction. Next week sees the opening of a new store in Westfield, London, on 13 June. fennwrightmanson.com
