The Fashion Audit: Scandi style, knickers for glory and summer scents
What we love, we're not sure about, we're buying and can't wait for...
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. We love: Scandi style
The retro Swedish footwear brand Hasbeen has a pop-up in Brick Lane for the summer so get your feet down there and step out with confidence. Tootsies rejoice.
12 Dray Walk, The Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, E1 6RF until 14 August
We're not sure about: Knickers for glory
We're not sure how cladding one's behind in horseshoes and union flags will make any difference to the fate of Team GB – although perhaps if they'd been made available a year ago more of us may have been lucky enough to actually score tickets.
We're buying: Summer scents
It's time to let a light and fresh summer scent out of the bottle, and what better than Lime, Basil & Mandarin? On certain days during the Olympics customers who spend £60 in selected Jo Malone London boutiques will receive the signature cream and black box customised with sketches of London landmarks.

We can't wait for: Style in the house
Way back when in the age of the Supers, and the days when MTV was actually about music, House of Style was required viewing. As part of the Nineties revival the fashion and celebrity update is returning, albeit in a more web-friendly form. The question on everyone's lips is who'll be filling Cindy Crawford's shoes as host come October?

We're dreaming of: Crowning glory
None of the designer crowns being auctioned off for Macmillan Cancer Support by Harrods would hang heavy on The Audit's head. This Lanvin design is as exuberant as Alber Elbaz, while Valentino's is classically elegant.
