Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

We can't wait for… Posh pong

If you're finding it hard to escape some of the more unsavoury aromas that this warm weather is producing, then head down to Harrods. From next week, the store is holding “Fragrance Explosion”, a month-long event that will see perfumers from brands including Jo Malone, Floris, Roja Dove and Atkinsons host specialist workshops.

22 August – 19 September, harrods.com

We're visiting… Paul's pop-up

This month, the Paul Smith boutique in London's Borough Market is sporting a rather eclectic makeover as it showcases a collection created by Toyko store Bunkaya Zakkaten. Think classic English design meets quirky Japanese kitsch.

Until 29 August, 13 Park Street, SE1

We love… Designer dolls

Barbie is showing that her true colours are not necessarily pink thanks to a makeover by preppy label Coach. The diminutive doll sports a trench coat, striped sweater and suede skirt accessorised to a tee with a miniaturised “Duffle” handbag. Perfect for those who haven't quite grown out of playing with dolls.

£95, Coach, 020 3141 8901

We're not sure about… Tacky tux

In an effort to smarten up the act of lounging around, Pot Noodle has developed a tuxedo that comes in the form of a onesie. Gents take note – we'd rather you were sitting on the sofa in holey pants and a string vest than subject us to this bizarre pyjama/black tie hybrid.

£25, prezzybox.com

We're buying… Rock on

To celebrate its rock-inspired new collection, Converse is taking over The Circle, a tattoo parlour in Soho, and will give fans the opportunity to get inked by an impressive guest list of artists. There will also be special performances from the likes of Pure Love. Banging.

£75, converse.co.uk
