The Fashion Audit: In the net / Burger Off / Wore in / Party time / Retrospective
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.
We love… In the net
Not content with conquering the market for luxury clothing, online retailer Net-a-porter has now moved into the beauty business too. Customers can browse an edit of beauty brands such as Aesop and Chantecaille to add to their designer clothing purchases. £20, Ilia. net-a-porter.com
We're not sure about… Burger Off
Whilst The Audit will freely confess to a love of fast food, it doesn't extend to including it in our wardrobe. This burger T-shirt comes from Mr Gugu and Miss Go. It also does French-fry leggings – a snack too far. £24.99, truffleshuffle.co.uk
We're buying… Wore in
Converse has launched Well Worn, a collection of Chuck Taylors which come already-distressed to get that artfully battered look, an antidote to the blinding white box-fresh problem. The brand has announced Get Dirty too, an 11-city free music tour to celebrate the new collection. converse.co.uk/getdirty
We can't wait for… Party time
It doesn't take much persuasion to get shopping but the upcoming evening at McQ's Dover Street store has all the elements covered: including a complimentary cocktail bar, a DJ set from Spector and a very appealing 30 per cent discount on all purchases. 5-8pm, 28 March, McQ, 14 Dover Street, London W1
We're saving up for… Retrospective
The old and the new combine in very stylish form in this Fluo bag from Delvaux – the oldest luxury leather brand in the world, which was founded in 1829. This particular style was first created in 1958 but has been given a very modern update in neon pink. £2,665, doverstreetmarket.com
