The Fashion Audit: Glassworks Studio, QR codes, LouLou and Olympic ambitions
What we love, we're not sure about, we're buying and can't wait for...
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. We Love: Glassworks Studio
One of The Audit's favourite virtual-shopping sites has sprung to life with a pop-up shop hosting a brilliant edit of sought-after brands.
Until 11 February, 9 Mercer Street, St Martin's Courtyard.
We're not sure about: QR codes
Like Lana Del Ray's management team, the people behind QR codes need to stop trying to make their product happen. The latest platform for the barcode is a T-shirt that, when scanned, allows the wearer to impart a message. "You're with stupid," perhaps.
We're buying: Loopy for LouLou
A seemingly innocuous tuxedo-stripe of pastel colour that taps into this season's trend for coloured denim hides a much more fun secret – it will glow neon under UV light. The perfect solution for any desk-to-dancefloor dilemma.
LouLou by Hudson jeans, £250, selfridges.com
We can't wait for: Her Majesty's images
Of course images of Queen Elizabeth are everywhere, but how closely do you actually look at her visage as you hand over a tenner? A fascinating new exhibition brings together Cecil Beaton's images of her from three decades, including portraits of the young princess, her growing family and her coronation.
From 8 February, vam.ac.uk
We're collecting: Olympic ambitions
As the sporting event of the year grows ever closer, a host of designers are dabbling in all things athletic. Cycling enthusiast Paul Smith is one of the first off the starting block with a selection of commemorative stamps for the Isle of Man post office.
