Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

We love: Daddy dearest

Papa Audit is certainly a dapper Dan, so this new toiletries set from Aesop is the perfect way to say thanks a million this Father's Day. Aw, shucks.

The Dapper Gentleman £106, Aesop, mrporter.com

We're not sure about: Sheer delights

Since a certain young brunette – you know the one: big church do last year, fancy dress, extra day off – has a predilection for sheer hose you wouldn't think the tight purveyors of the world need be reduced to such indefensible tactics as these fake-tan impregnated tights.

We're buying: J brand nation

Who wouldn't want Caleb or Aiden to be their new boyfriend? We're not talking about rough- and-ready young chaps though, but the new boyfriend-style jeans from J Brand that are set to become fast favourites.

Caleb, £230, liberty.co.uk; Aiden £260, harrods.com

We can't wait for: Pop!

It seems fitting that pop culture – and the Swinging Sixties scene that was its apogee, led by designers such as Mary Quant – is celebrated in a year when all eyes are on our capital. This exhibition brings together fashion, art and design from 1950s rock'n'rollers to the Punk explosion of the Seventies.

From 6 July, Fashion and Textile Museum, London SE1

We're getting it right: Hat tricks

The jubilee is over but with headgear Dos and Don'ts fresh in our minds, it's high time to think about hats for Ascot, especially as fascinators have been banned from the Royal Enclosure. Milliner Piers Atkinson is on hand at the St Martins Lane Hotel to ensure standards don't slip.

Until 30 June, WC2
