Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

We Love: Bibliophile

Visitors to COS on Regent Street this week may be surprised to find an eclectic collection of tomes from The Wapping Project Bookshop among the minimalist decor and rails of trend-ticking pieces.

Until 14 March, 222 Regent Street, W1

We're not sure about: Chain gang

The Audit is all for a bit of directional high-street fashion, but this piece of man jewellery from Topman is taking things a step far. Styled over skinny jeans, it resembles an instrument of torture more than anything that should ever be worn in the cold light of day.

We're buying: Lashings of lashes

Benefit's super-sizing mascara "They're Real" was the best-selling premium mascara last year and, with one sold every 20 seconds, is set to take the title for 2012 too. Lengthening and volumising, the clever brush promises to reveal lashes that you never knew you had.

We can't wait for: Style bible

The last model has barelysashayed off the catwalk in Paris and the buzz of the international collections still lingers in the air, so what better way to keep up the momentum than pre-ordering issue two of the print edition of Style.com?

We're starting early: Sole 2 Sole

Harnessing the power of positive thinking, one could say that summer – aka sandal-wearing season – is just around the corner. Which makes now the time for a pre-emptive pedicure from the maestro Margaret Dabbs – right now our feet would scare small children.
