Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The restrictions on carrying liquids on planes may be a pain, but they're hardly new which is why I'm always astounded by those who moan about the expensive perfume they've just had to sacrifice at security.

Sticking to the rules doesn't have to mean messily decanting your favourite products or rooting around for smellies liberated from hotel bathrooms though, as brands are increasingly offering Lilliputian versions of their bestsellers.

They're Real! Push-up Liner

£19.50, benefitcosmetics.co.uk

It's unusual to find a pen-like gel liner and this needs some practice to get the nib-like applicator to work but the results are dark, glossy and long-lasting.

The Super Elixir Travel Pack

£19, welleco.com

A trip doesn't have to mean your nutrition regime goes out the window. These sachets of supplement are handy for battling the 4 o'clock slump.

Scrubbers Nail Polish Remover Wipes

£8, butterlondon.co.uk

I can't stand wearing chipped nail polish, so a couple of these individually wrapped removal wipes are always tucked in my wash bag.

Foaming Cleanser (part of set)

£40, net-a-porter.com

Swedish skin care range Verso has high levels of Retinol8 a vitamin A derivative which can reverse the signs of ageing to impressive effect.

Mini Manipulator

£5.95, bedhead.com

Leave the hair dryer at home this summer and instead braid long hair while still damp, a smidge of this texture paste will keep frizz under control.
