Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Faking a flush is my ultimate instant pick-me-up, and over the years I've experimented with every blusher formulation under the sun – from powder to liquid tint, via crème, mousse and gel.

I find that a smooth, easy-to-blend cream works best for me, especially in summer when I prefer a dewy freshness over anything too powdery. Concentrate on the apples of your cheeks. These should appear when you grin, and no matter how grumpy you feel in the morning, seeing your smiling self in the mirror should set you up for the day ahead.

Dual intensity blush in Adoration

£30, narscosmetics.co.uk

Designed to work alone or in tandem, the bright, sheer colour and its more subtle highlighting counterpart can be used wet or dry.

Lip & cheek bloom in Orange Blossom no 7

£24, burberry.com

This is a soft peach rather than a vibrant citrus – perfect for finishing a romantic bohemian look. A little of this smooth jelly goes a long way.

Ambient lighting bronzer

£42, Hourglass, net-a-porter.com

This marbled shimmering powder blends together to create a softly flattering glow as if you always have your own lighting technician on hand.

Honey Bronze highlighting dome

£8, thebodyshop.co.uk

This sheer highlighter can look a bit wet when first applied, but a bit of blending transforms it into a subtle glow.

Sheer blushing powder in Cherry Nectar 080

£37, gucci.com

The newly launched beauty line by Gucci is as luxurious as you would expect – this purply pink will look great on darker skin, with cool tones.
