Gap is in trouble after releasing a T-shirt with the slogan "Manifest Destiny", a term associated with the belief that white Americans were entitled to expand across the Native Americans' land. Not clever, but Gap isn't alone in T-shirt insensitivity.
In July, Topshop had to pull a vest with name of the band Slayer and the skull and bones of the Waffen-SS on it, while Nike rode out the controversy about its Olympic "Gold Digging" T-shirts, which were for women only. Brands: don't wear your ignorance on your chests, OK?
