Your support makes all the difference.The Olivier Awards invaded London’s iconic Royal Opera House last night; it is Britain’s theatre equivalent of the Oscars, attended by an array of home-grown talent in their best attires.
From Judi Dench to Nicola Scherzinger, Pixie Lott and James McAvoy, the ceremony's red carpet welcomed the country’s biggest stars wearing a number of designer gowns and tuxedos. The stars embraced their national pride by wearing a number of British names and black set the trend as it dominated the scene. As they say, you can never go wrong with black.
This year, the event organisers worked closely with menswear partner Chester Barrie and the British Fashion Council on styling of the nominees and presenters.
Scherzinger appeared in a black body-hugging strapless gown teamed up with gold details, similar to the look of actress Gemma Arterton, who also went for a daring black dress, combined with a minimalist gold necklace. Kevin Spacey embraced House of Cards' Francis Underwood with a sharp black tuxedo. Kimberley Walsh, however, added a touch of colour with a red gown.
