From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference.Famous faces from across the globe have attended Paris haute couture fashion week to, of course, sit on the front row at the spring/summer 2015 shows and enjoy a parade of luxurious designs.
This fashion week takes place twice a year and is like no other. It presents the haute couture creations by an elite group of fashion designers. The designs are luxurious, opulent and ludicrously expensive.
Some of the biggest names include Dior, which presented the latest collection by Raf Simons, and Chanel, which introduced Karl Lagerfeld's magic in a hothouse built at the Grand Palais. Both were attended by celebrities from the worlds of film, music and fashion.
Chanel was packed a punch with Kristen Stewart, Kris Jenner and Vanessa Paradis.
At Dior, actress Natalie Portman was seen hand in hand with husband Benjamin Millepieds on the front row.
At Atelier Versace, Kate Hudson posed next to Donatella Versace, wearing with pride a red dress fresh from the catwalk - following her red carpet success at the Golden Globes, to which she wore a design by the Italian fashion house.
Armani Prive presented its biggest couture show to date with 68 looks, to indulge a front row that was packed with celebrities including Robin Wright and Kristin Scott Thomas.
It was surprising not to see Emma Watson scouting the shows, but the actress might have busy schedule following the recent news that she'll be playing Belle on the Disney's classic.
