Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

What are you wearing right now?

I am wearing a pink APC jumper, a pair of 7 For All Mankind wide-legged jeans, and YSL Tribute shoes.

Who's your style icon?

I admire the Olsen twins' style, and anyone who has the confidence to wear what they feel confident in.

What can't you live without?

Stacked heels, a cocktail ring and oversized bags.

Describe the best outfit you have ever worn.

My wedding dress – I accessorised with chunky vintage pearls and a turquoise costume jewellery necklace.

What's in your wardrobe?

A lot of black, maybe too much. Mostly trousers.

What's your handbag like, and what is in it?

My bag is the D&G tan Micol Square bag. It contains a BlackBerry, make-up bag, notebook, my son's toys and a book on business skills.

If you could live in any century, style-wise which would it be?

I loved the Grace Kelly 'To Catch a Thief' era.

How often do you look in the mirror?

Enough to make sure I don't look a mess.

Any guilty pleasures/ fashion confessions you want to share with us?

I wore a white chiffon maxidress to an awards ceremony, unaware that it was totally see-through. I spent the evening sitting down.
