Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

What are you wearing right now?

I'm wearing a purple dress which is one of the costumes in the film I'm working on.

Who's your style icon?

I really love Edie Sedgwick and Brigitte Bardot.

What can't you live without?

I can't live without my iPod and my white Baby-G watch – they both come everywhere with me. I love listening to music on the road, and I hate being late to anything!

Describe the best outfit you've ever worn.

I think it would have to be my mum's white, backless vintage dress.

What's in your wardrobe?

A bit of everything really. Some vintage dresses, outfits from Topshop and Urban Outfitters, and I also love Moschino, Mulberry and Fendi. I have lots of accessories too. In fact, my wardrobe is practically falling apart from all the clothes that are stuffed into it! They're hanging out the sides too.

What's in your handbag?

Eyeliner, mascara, face powder and bronzer – I can't live without them.

If you could live in any decade style-wise, which would it be?

It would have to be the Sixties – I love the Audrey Hepburn look.

How often do you look in the mirror?

Every day, whenever I'm getting ready to go somewhere!

Any fashion confessions you want to share with us?

I use a Sharpie to cover up scuff marks on shoes.

What's your secret style tip?

Always accessorise – it brings an outfit to life. And always take a few extra accessories, to jazz up an outfit at the last minute.

Pixie Lott is brand ambassador for Baby-G and her new album 'Turn it Up' is out now.
