Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. What are you wearing right now?
A T-shirt with a smiley face on it. And some shorts. I'm at home, chilling out and waiting for Ugly Betty to come on the telly. Wednesday TV is so boring but I really love Ugly Betty!
Who's your style icon?
I don't have one anymore, I love being me. I like mixing and matching different styles making them my own. But I used to love Janet Jackson in her Rhythm Nation days... Army-style jackets and biker boots with heels.
What can't you live without?
My Blackberry! It's my life, and now that all my friends have one, I can Blackberry Messenger them all the time, sending silly icon faces and voice notes too. I love it a bit too much.
Describe the best outfit you have ever worn
My navy blue, very tight dress with shoulder pads that I wore for the Dead Man Running premiere. I felt like a million dollars with four-inch diamond heel Gucci slingbacks and my Gucci clutch.
What is in your make-up bag?
I always have my pink glow Bobby Brown highlighter cream with me, and I use it to highlight my eyebrow arches and cheekbones, my MAC eyeliner pencil and some MAC clear lipgloss.
If you could live in any decade, style-wise which would it be?
Victorian because of all those fitted, bustled dresses, and lots of lace. I like that you had to be covered up but could still look so sexy. I also love the Eighties style that's just come back in: the shoulder pads, sequins and distressed denim, shiny leggings and platform boots... Woohoo! Love it.
How often do you look in the mirror?
Mostly in the morning. "Oh no, look at those bags!" I say to myself while applying my MAC concealer to the dark circles under my eyes from sitting up Twittering all night. Hahaha.
