Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. What are you wearing right now?
A Prada lace skirt, Givenchy jacket, Margiela T shirt, Bionda Castana heels and a Jenny Packham Acacia bracelet in black diamond crystals.. Always black with a bit of bling. I also buy a lot from vintage shops and markets in New York and Paris and love mixing beautiful designs from the past with contemporary pieces.
Who's your style icon?
Today, Bianca Jagger. Different collections have taken inspiration from iconic women throughout the ages. Anyone from Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich to Courtney Love. Hollywood starlets with a little rock and roll.
What can't you live without?
My family and contact lenses. My I pod is essential as well. At the gym and on airplanes. Une Rose, a perfume by Frederic Malle lifts my spirits like no other scent, and a pair of Loubitons to take my look from day to evening.
Describe the best outfit you have ever worn.
Jenny Packham Autumn Winter 2009. Black sequin dress with fringes of boa. One of my best.
What's in your wardrobe?
Prada, Givenchy, Bottega Veneta, Dries Van Noten. I love narrow shoulders, slim sleeves and great detail. I also have a passion for vintage markets so I have quite an extensive room full of incredible pieces from different ages and all over the world. The Thirties are an amazingly inspirational time for fashion and I love the glamour and decadence of this era. I have a great collection of panelled satin dresses and some wonderful pieces of Ossie Clark. Accessories are also a big feature in my wardrobe as a great solution when you are 'speed dressing' . I go for black and carry a crystal clutch bag or Acacia head band and I can be out quickly without compromising on style.
What is in your make-up bag?
Mymix foundation by MyFace cosmetics, which is an amazing foundation by Charlotte Tilbury. Dior Black out Mascara.
What's in your handbag?
Too much. Emerald Smythson diary, make up, keys, perfume and a lemon!
If you could live in any decade, style-wise which would it be?
Now. This has to be the best time. I grew up in a world with no technology and time to dream, and now I have the world at my finger tips.
How often do you look in the mirror?
Apparently you are vain if you look in a mirror more than 7 times a day. I am vain.
Any fashion confessions you want to share with us?
I wore a beautiful pink feather hat to an event with my brother but I sat next to Sir David Attenborough and took it off very quickly!
What's your secret style tip?
Confidence and a sense of humour.
