Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

What are you wearing right now?

I'm wearing a Balmain dress, Manolo Blahnik shoes, an Alessandro dell'Acqua jacket, and carrying a Marc Jacobs handbag.

Who's your style icon?

I have lots of style icons! The most influential are probably Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, Kate Moss, Audrey Hepburn, Jessica Rabbit and Stevie Nicks.

What can't you live without?

I have just created the fabulous 21st-century Myface Cosmetics, which is cleverly split into fair, medium and medium/dark skin tones. The range is so incredible, I simply can't live without my Myface mascara, foundation and eyeshadows.

Describe the best outfit you have ever worn

It was a completely fabulous, long, tiger-print Roberto Cavalli Seventies disco dress with winged sleeves.

What's in your wardrobe?

Some Alessandro dell'Acqua, Temperley, loads of Alaïa, Balmain, Louboutin, Cavalli, and a lot of vintage.

What's your handbag like, and what is in it?

My favourite is an amazing black patent-leather Alaïa that is big enough to fit everything I need to carry around in it, yet still looks stylish. In it is my make-up bag, which contains the entire "fair" range from my Myface Cosmetics line, my Aspinal crocodile diary, Oliver Peoples sunglasses (right), Miu Miu wallet, BlackBerry, vitamins, hairbrush and Rodial Glamtox anti-ageing serum.

If you could live in any century, style-wise, which would it be?

Now, this century – I love my life and I don't want to change it.

How often do you look in the mirror?

As often as I get a chance to.

Any guilty pleasures/fashion confessions you want to share with us?

I have a high-heel fetish! I possess no flat shoes, they make me feel depressed. I come alive and feel empowered and sexy in high heels.
