Dress code: Brian Atwood, Creative Director of Bally
What are you wearing right now?
Earnest Sewn jeans, a navy button-down shirt, leather jacket and classic tan leather Scribes by Bally.
Who's your style icon?
Hmm; many, but Lauren Hutton and Steve McQueen definitely top the list.
Describe the best outfit you have ever worn.
I bought a tuxedo to go to an awards show in 2007 – I feel like a million dollars in that tux.
What's in your wardrobe?
A lot of shoes! A couple of suits (although I'm essentially a jeans man) and an obscene number of leather coats and jackets. And a fantastic selection of bags. I travel a lot, and I only take carry-on luggage. Every season I design my perfect weekender bag. I'm now using my Argus design, inspired by Le Corbusier.
Le Corbusier? How does he fit into fashion?
I studied architecture before I switched to shoe design. The disciplines are close; you combine line, structure and material into something both breathtaking and functional.
What's in your man bag?
The most important item is sunglasses; they let you hide yet be the centre of attention. And gadgets – BlackBerry, phone and my fabulous MacBook Air.
If you could live in any century, style-wise, which would it be?
Definitely now; we have more variety and freedom than in any previous time.
How often do you look in the mirror?
Not often at all, I'm pretty much a wash'n'go kind of guy. I generally don't even look before I leave the house in the morning.
Any guilty pleasures/fashion confessions you want to share with us?
Apart from my ever-expanding closet? I do have a weakness for gold watches; who knew more than one was necessary?
The Bally a/w09 collection was presented in Milan last weekend. The brand is sponsoring Le Corbusier: The Art of Architecture exhibition at The Barbican.
