Who's your style icon?
Coco Chanel. I love the simple, classic lines of her clothes. They're timeless and ageless.
What can't you live without?
My black suede ankle boots. I buy a new pair every year and wear them with just about every pair of trousers I own.
Describe the best outfit you've ever worn.
A burgundy velvet jacket with gold frogging that I bought from Bellville Sassoon three years ago.
What's in your wardrobe?
Lots of suits. A whole range of jackets. Ten bodies (to go under the suits), 30 pairs of trousers (linen, suede, wool, leather and jeans). Over 100 pairs of shoes. Loads of casual shirts and sweaters. A range of evening wear. In other words, a complete mix and match to cover any filming assignment, studio programme or public appearance I make as a broadcaster, and casual 'comfies' for when I'm at home.
What's in your handbag?
Mobile phone, diary, Kanebo lipstick, Chanel lip-pencil and a "senior" travelcard.
How often do you look in the mirror?
Every morning when I put on my make-up, and also when I'm filming, before a take, because most of the time, we don't have a hair or make-up artist on hand, so there is no one else available to tell me if I'm a mess!
Any guilty pleasures to share with us?
I can't pass a shoe shop – hence owning over 100 pairs of shoes.
What's your secret style tip?
Keep it classic – keep it simple.
