Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. What are you wearing right now?
A rose-print velour stretch dress from the new diffusion line, Peaches Loves PPQ at very.co.uk.
Who's your style icon?
Right now it has to be Percy [Amy's design partner], reclining at the photo shoot we are on. He's wearing a tailored grey suit and a fine white shirt. And no socks.
If you could live in any decade style-wise when would it be?
I'd live in the Sixties. I like the idea of everything being made-to-measure for you. I'm not under any illusions though, as most people were very poor and weren't living on the King's Road.
Describe the best outfit you have ever worn
I loved my school uniform. I went to quite a radical school: we had to wear black. So I loved my tassel loafers, pencil skirt and grey secretarial cardigan.
What can't you live without?
Our white Fiat 500 with go-faster stripes. We zoom around town in it doing meetings. I've got a Samsung netbook and the matching bag we made for it, so it's a studio-on-the-go.
What's in your wardrobe?
My wardrobe consists of lots of PPQ archive, vintage pieces, lots of underwear, and Adidas – as it's my favourite sports brand. I dress up most days so I love wearing hoodies as dresses.
What's in your make-up bag?
Eve Lom TLC cream and Estée Lauder foundation.
How often do you look in the mirror?
Every day, as Percy sits behind me so we often pull faces at each other in the dress mirrors.
