Cara Delevingne pursues acting career because fashion left her feeling 'empty'
The 22-year-old supermodel reveals why she sacrificed her initial ambitions and tried modelling instead

However, the 22-year-old British supermodel has said she really doesn’t want to become just a “cliché”.
“I don’t want to be that cliché – model-slash-actress,” she told the Wall Street Journal (as she covers its magazine’s June issue).
She explained initially having ambitions in the movie world before pursuing a modelling career. “I basically gave up on acting because trying to get an agent was impossible. Everyone said, ‘You’re just a model’. Once I had my mindset that I was going to do this modelling thing, I really wanted to beat it, if that makes sense? Win it.”
She certainly has won the fashion industry by gracing countless editorials, campaigns and runways – for both, designer and high-street brands. But, all this success didn’t seem to have fulfilled Delevingne’s dreams.
“I ended up feeling a bit empty. Fashion is about what’s on the outside, and that’s it.”
Delevingne’s current agents, William Morris Endeavour, signed her last year and has since landed her a number of acting jobs.
