Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Melbourne-based label Réalisation Par has released a new collection of dresses, band tees and jumpsuits in collaboration with Elton John.

The 14-piece, limited-edition collection, which is available from today, features clothes inspired by the Rocketman singer’s costume archives.

In addition to eight entirely new designs, including a belted jumpsuit available in black or white named The Rocketman, the collection also includes beloved Réalisation styles, reimagined in the theme of John's songs and costumes.

The singer-songwriter’s Hammersmith 78’ concert Chinois outfit served as the inspiration for a cream-and-gold silk patterned slip dress, named The Tiny Dancer, while The Nikita dress features a graffiti-inspired look of rainbows and peace signs on white silk.

“Clouds in my eyes as Elton says… The Amoreena dress has more than clouds in her eyes,” the description for a blue button-down mini dress reads. “She’s button through, above the knee, long romantic sleeve and everything you want in your Réal collection.”

According to Refinery29, the collaboration came about after the fashion brand’s founders Alexandra Spencer and Teale Talbot sent a note to the singer that read: “You gave us Rocketman, we want to give you Rocketwoman.

“We love you for Réal.”

All of the pieces in the collection feature names of John’s top hits, and a percentage of profits will go directly to the Elton John Charitable trust.

“It’s great to see how my music has inspired this fabulous collection,” John said. “I hope all the Dreamgirls enjoy wearing it as much as I’ve enjoyed playing the songs and performing to my fans!”
