From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. On Wednesday, the cosmetics brand shared campaign footage for its first foundation product line, Sublime Perfection The System, featuring the 17-year-old among a host of models including Sonjdra Deluxe, Violet Chachki and Zhengyang Zhang.
In the footage, which was shot and directed by US fashion photographer Steven Meisel, Damian is dressed in a white T-shirt and a black leather jacket. Meanwhile, his bouffant hair-do, which is back-combed and teased to perfection, billows in front of the camera.
The teenager, who is signed to model agency TESS Management, sports a similar look to his famous mother, with his high cheekbones, glossy brunette locks, and high eyebrow arch.
Damian posted a photograph from the photo shoot, revealing he was “so excited” to share his work with the cosmetics brand.
The post has since received over 3,000 likes and comments from celebrities including philanthropist David Furnish and fashion designer Bella Freud.
“Looking fierce,” Furnish rote.
“Stunningly beautiful,” added Freud.
“LOVE AND ADORE YOU MY ANGEL!!! [sic]” make-up artist Pat McGrath added.
In a statement about the campaign, the renowned makeup artist and Pat McGrath Labs founder, stated: “Working with our amazing cast including Sonjdra, Damian, Violet, Zheng, Shanelle, Blesnya and Primose, has been simply magical and made this set so fun and easy – being surrounded by a luminary line-up of divine beauties who are McGrath Muses.
“To have Meisel’s fierce and disruptive aesthetic, eye for fresh talent, and prolific, unparalleled approach to beauty is a dream come true.”
Damian’s fashion shoot comes three years after he made his acting debut for a part in season three of his mother’s series The Royals.
Damian, whose father is US entrepreneur Steve Bing, regularly features on his mother’s Instagram account.
However, in 2018 the 54-year-old received backlash after posting images of herself in a bikini which were taken by her son.
“Here’s the thing, he doesn’t take all my bikini photos, by the way,” Hurley told television host Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live after receiving criticism. “Some of them are professional, some of them are my sister, anybody who I can get.”
The actor continued, explaining: “When we’re on holiday together, sure he’ll take some pictures. And you know, he’s got a really good eye and he’s studying photography and it’s ridiculous.”
Pat McGrath Labs’ Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection The System is available on Patmcgrath.com, Selfridges.com and select Selfridges stores on 26 July.
