Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Though top models are paid to showcase the sartorial creations of storied couturiers on the runway, many are trying their own hand at designing off duty. Claudia Schiffer is the latest to join the rising trend of model-cum-designers.
During Milan Fashion Week, the German beauty let it slip that she was working on a debut clothing line. Her capsule collection for winter 2011 will be for German knitwear brand Iris von Arnim and will feature luxurious cashmere pieces reflecting her own personal style of understated elegance.
Meanwhile, veteran fashion designers and catwalk divas Kate Moss and Jessica Hart are rolling out their fall 2010 collections following successful prior seasons.
For nearly three years, rocker-chic British top mannequin Moss has designed her own clothing line for the UK fast-fashion retailer Topshop. But her partnership with the brand will terminate at year's end. The 14th and final collection, Kate Moss for Topshop Autumn/Winter 2010, will hit shelves on November 2.
Sexy Victoria's Secret model Jessica Hart, known for the trademark gap between her front teeth, is rolling out a highly anticipated second collection for her line, Neon Hart, after her glam-meets-grunge pieces flew off the shelves last season. The fall collection will be available in store and online at Australian retailer General Pants Co. from October 5.
