Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Supermodel Cindy Crawford shares her tips on how to preserve a youthful look, and no, they don't include Botox. Plus: tennis star Serena Williams' at-home manicure and reality star Kim Kardashian's favorite products to create her famous smoky eyes.

Keep looking youthful like Cindy Crawford

The supermodel told InStyle magazine her secrets of looking youthful at 44: according to Crawford, the right hair color is one of the essentials to a young look and should be dimensional, not flat. For her skin, she uses Microderm once a month, a procedure that removes dead cells and reduces dark spots by light abrasion. To keep her lips looking full, she makes sure she always uses lipliner and adds some shimmer for extra volume.

Crawford also has an anti-aging skincare line called Meaningful Beauty, which she sells online: http://www.meaningfulbeauty.com

Save money doing your own manicure like Serena Williams

YouTube tutorials make it easy to be your own nail artist, but tennis champion Serena Williams is taking things one step further, heading to beauty school in Florida several times a week to become a nail technician. She told People magazine that her favorite styles for a manicure are a classic red, pink or yellow for spring, or the minx print she wore at the Australian Open.

Create the perfect smoky eye like Kim Kardashian

Reality star Kim Kardashian's seductive gaze is one of her trademarks, and she shared her tips for the perfect eye make-up recently in OK! magazine: Kardashian starts with a bold eyeliner, Liquid Eye Liner in Boot Black by MAC, then applies false lashes (by Ardell), creates a smoldering look on her lids with Hazelnut eye shadow by Motives, and finishes off the look with Eye M Glam Highlighter by Mario Dedivanovic.
