5 ways to keep that post-holiday glow

Your sun-drenched holiday may have ended, but that doesn’t have to signal the end of summer. Here’s how to prolong that shine even when the sun, sea and sand seem far, far away

After a vacation comes to an end, and the reality of your usual routine picks up again, those blissful, meandering days can seem like a distant dream.

But it doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom, especially when it comes to those beauty benefits that come with having time off in the sun. A few simple tricks mean you can harness that holiday radiance to last long after the nights start drawing in.

Lock in hydration

Body exfoliation is key, but to avoid losing your tan altogether, go gently. Before your shower, simply swipe over limbs with a dry body brush. This will remove top dead skin cells, which can have a dulling effect, but not scrub off your tan. Instead of your usual shower gel, consider one of Jo Malone’s shower oils to help lock in moisture. The lime basil and Mandarin fragrance will remind you of long days in the Med.

Gently does it

Avoid harsh facial cleansers and any products containing glycolic acid and salicylic acid, which will cause your tan to fade. A gentle approach to cleansing will keep skin in tip-top condition but let radiance shine through. Avoid rubbing and pulling by using Braun’s FaceSpa Pro, which comes with a genius MicroVibration metal toning head. It applies creams and serums with a micro-vibration action, helping to leave skin toned and uplifted and your tan enhanced.

Drench your skin

Long days in the sun, dips in the salty ocean and dive-bombs in the pool can all take their toll on your complexion. Many of us return home with parched and flaky skin. The first thing to do is to step up your moisturising routine with a super-boosting formula, such as Cult51 day cream. This luxury hydrator is all about helping to restore the skin’s natural radiance and leaving you looking fresher and firmer. With a blend of floral notes, it will also transport your mind to a balmier climate in an instant.
