If hot, sweaty bump'n' grind is not your thing you may prefer to be amused by a slapstick comedy ambush at the Lyric Theatre, London. Classifying themselves as comedy rather than physical theatre, Sean Foley and Hamish McColl proved a huge hit on the Edinburgh Fringe this year, and have now brought their show, Do You Come Here Often, to London. The plot is simple - two strangers are trapped in a bathroom for so long that their beards grow to the floor. The show has intriguing depths, though nothing too serious, and the pair have been compared to Morecambe and Wise.

The British Short Film Festival opens today. Partly organised by the BBC, various premieres and live events will be held all over London in the coming weeks, but the main venue is the Odeon in Marble Arch.

One of the most important gymnastics events, the World Sports Acrobatics Championships starts at the Manchester Velodrome today, featuring four days of balancing and tumbling by some of the sport's most spectacular acrobats. Last year the British pair Martyn Smith and Mark Flores finished in third place.
