Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

A new exhibition at the Air Gallery confirms the iconographic status of legendary rock band, Pink Floyd. Varying Shades of Pink, the brainchild of artist and Pink Floyd fanatic Steve Geary, comprises eight acrylic-on-canvas interpretations of each of Pink Floyd's eight albums, including Meddle, Wish You Were Here, Dark Side of the Moon, Atom Heart Mother and Division Bell. In addition, there is a limited edition of 100 prints of four selected images, selling at pounds 100.
Not bad for a band, once described by DJ Pete Murray as "a con".

Adults only Volcano Theatre Company
Volcano Theatre Company are back with a typically controversial piece entitled After the Orgy at the Queen Elizabeth Hall tomorrow night, and then on tour around the country. In their latest show, the company, who are celebrating 10 years of inspiring, shocking and challenging audiences, take a post-modern look at the plight of an era bloated by excess, drunk on consumption and numbed by increasingly ineffective highs - hence the question "What are you doing after the orgy?" There's also a complementary physical participation event at The Bull Theatre in Barnet today, led by members of the company, and exploring their startling methods and techniques. Sounds intriguing. QEH, South Bank, London SE1 (0171-960 4242) tomorrow 7.45pm; Bull Theatre, Barnet, Herts (0181-449 0048) today from 12noon
