From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Dudeoir photography has come to the UK, championing male body positivity and mental health awareness.

A local services marketplace decided to start promoting it on their website after they noticed an increase in internet searches for the trend.

Dudeoir photography, a male spin on the more typically female boudoir photography, has been really popular in the US for quite some time.

Bidvine.com spotted an opportunity to bring it over across the pond. By employing some of their own photographers, they began offering the service nationwide.

“We’d noticed a huge number of searches for something we’d never heard of before, and as soon as we Googled and spotted the amazing photoshoots coming out, we knew we had to bring it to the British public in time for Christmas,” says Russ Morgan, co-founder of Bidvine.com.

“We also think it promotes body positivity, something that has been championed in the press recently for women but not so much for guys.”

The aim of a dudeoir photoshoot is to make the man feel confident celebrating his body.

Owen Harvey, the first photographer to sign up to offer the service, explained what makes them so appealing to customers.

“Dudeoir photography is all about capturing the model’s personality,” he explains.

“Of course, the photos can still be sexy, but the aim is for them to be funny at the same time, and I think that’s why they’re becoming so popular.

“Sometimes the guys can be a little self-conscious at first, but that’s normal. Dudeoir is the perfect way to promote body confidence and self-esteem and after a short while everyone loosens up and has a laugh with it!”

Not only does dudeoir photography encourage men to release their inhibitions, but it also promotes mental health awareness for men.

With that in mind, Bidvine.com are going to be donating 20 per cent of the profits from the Dudeoir service to several mental health charities including MIND.

“We wanted to do something that would make a difference, and considering Dudeoir is all about men expressing themselves freely, we decided to donate 20 per cent of all profits to some great mental health charities,” says Morgan
