On Saturday the couple, who have been dating since 2010, tied the knot during an intimate ceremony at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, Florida.
The sportswomen shared the special moment with their followers on Instagram by posting a series of photographs from their wedding rehearsal and a highlight video from the big day.
Alongside the clip, Harris wrote: “Wow! This was the most magical day of my life surrounded by the most incredible people.
“Thank you to everyone who made this special! @alikrieger I love you with all of my heart.”
For the ceremony, Krieger wore a white floor-length gown designed by Pronovias, which featured long-sleeves, a plunging back, button detailing and floral embroidery.
The soccer player completed her bridal look with a Cathedral veil, pointed court heels and had her hair styled in tousled waves.
However, Harris decided to ditch the traditional wedding gown in favour of a custom suit designed by Thom Browne.
The black silk tuxedo featured a beaded and organza overlay with feather detailing and was accessorised with a sleeveless white shirt, black bow tie and knee-high socks.
Thom Browne also designed the suits worn by Krieger’s brother and the couple’s friend and teammate Megan Rapinoe for the ceremony.
Speaking to Vogue about the design process, Harris revealed the she loved gender-neutral approach behind the brand.
“I researched his background and found out that he was an athlete. He was a swimmer and part of the LGBTQ community and an American-based designer—all of the things that I look for when wearing clothes,” Harris said.
‘Honestly, I loved that it was very gender neutral, very fluid, there were women in dresses and men in dresses, and men and women in skirts. I can really feel how he expresses himself through clothes, it’s just so non-conforming and so far out, and I’ve been wearing his stuff ever since.”
The couple exchanged their vows inside the venue’s formal gardens surrounded by Italian Renaissance architecture and singer Kina Grannis also performed.
Speaking to People, Krieger said they both fell in love with the venue instantly.
“It was this kind of Mediterranean castle-like vibe right on the water, this European-type vibe that we were going for,” she said.
“Right when we walked in we were like, ‘Oh my God. We love this and everyone else was going to love this and this is just … This is it’.”
Harris agreed, adding: “I think the biggest thing for Ali and I was creating an environment where it was a very classic and clean and modern and just really sharp and almost in a magical way that’s kind of what our vision was from the very beginning.”
Following their nuptials, Harris and Krieger cut their three-tiered white wedding cake to reveal layers of rainbow sponge before they enjoyed a night on the dance floor with family and friends.
The couple have said they are planning to go on holiday somewhere tropical for their honeymoon following the 2020 Olympics which ends on 9 August.
‘We’re going to plan to go on our dream honeymoon, which is hopefully going to be in the Maldives or Bora Bora on one of those little huts on the water,” Krieger said.
“So that’s kind of what we envision.”
