The news comes just hours after Page Six revealed the actor was spotted wearing a “massive ring” on her left finger while at dinner with the 34-year-old.
The couple, who have been dating since June 2018, have tried to keep their relationship out of the public eye as much as possible.
So much so, that people know very little about J.Law’s new partner.
To rectify that, we’ve found out everything you need to know about Cooke Maroney, from where he grew up to how the couple first met.
He grew up in Vermont
Maroney grew up in Vermont where his parents, James Maroney and Suki Fredericks, own a farm.
According to Medium, his parents decided to move further up north after they grew tired of raising their son in the city.
He is an art gallerist
Maroney is the director of New York’s Gladstone art gallery, which boasts a list of high profile clients including Anish Kapoor, Matthew Barney, and Lena Dunham's father, Caroll Dunham.
He also previously worked at the Gagosian, another esteemed gallery, according to Page Six.
He's an NYU alum
According to reports, Maroney went to high school in Vermont before studying art history at New York University.
He and Lawrence met through a mutual friend
The couple were first introduced to each other by the actor’s best friend, Laura Simpson.
“They met through Jen’s friend Laura….The relationship has been going on a few weeks. But they have been very private and careful not to be seen together,” a source told Page Six in June.
He keeps his personal life private
Lawrence and Maroney have tried hard to keep their relationship private, even after their romance was revealed last summer.
Aside from rare sightings in New York, the couple have been spotted in Paris and Rome. They also reportedly attended a premiere for The Favourite in late September.
You also won't find Maroney on any public social media. He does have an Instagram account, but it's private with fewer than 2,000 followers.
