From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

What people to choose to eat on Christmas day can be a contentious issue.

While some like to stick to a traditional roast turkey lunch, others may choose to be a little more avant-garde in their festive dietary choices.

Those in favour of seasonal subculture will be thrilled to know that Christmas lasagne has arrived at a London-based restaurant.

No longer just a distant dream for those who only imagined such culinary collaborations, the innovative dish is now on offer at Mister Lasagne, an Italian chain restaurant that serves 21 varieties of the pasta staple.

Complete with turkey, brussels sprouts, pancetta, caramelised red onions and roast potatoes, this jam-packed creation is not one for the fainthearted, or the small-stomached.

On top of all the festive trimmings, every ingredient in the lasagne is also smothered in layers of béchamel and cranberry sauce, reports The Sun.

Considering the fact that you're practically getting an entire Christmas lunch in a matter of mouthfuls, the dish's £5.90 price tag seems pretty reasonable.

"This Christmas we wanted to create something special, we have given the British roast dinner an Italian twist!" explained Alessandro Limone, founder of Mister Lasagne.

"We think it is delicious and we hope our customers think so too."

It's available at all four branches of Mister Lasagne up until Christmas.

However, lasagne isn't the only alternative option for festive thrill-seekers.

This Christmas, shoppers can indulge in a whole myriad of merry mash-ups.

Whether it's a mince pie croissant or a jug of glittering gravy, the creativity of British foodies knows no bounds.

It's only a matter of time until pigs in blankets somehow become pigs in prosecco; you heard it here first.
