From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Relatable new mother Chrissy Teigen has revealed she is “super insecure” about her post-baby body, two months after giving birth to her second child Miles.

While on a family vacation in Bali, the model shared a video of herself in a pair of floral bikini bottoms, zooming in on her stretch marks and what she referred to as her “mom bod.”

“Guess these just aren’t going to go away. This is my new body,” the model told her followers on Twitter.

Teigen, who is an outspoken supporter of women and body positivity, then followed up with an unedited photo of herself kissing husband John Legend.

Her unfiltered video received more than 45,000 likes and hundreds of comments praising the model for her honesty - which prompted Teigen to discuss her views on body confidence.

In a series of tweets, the model said: “Instagram is crazy. I think it's awesome people have killer bodies and are proud to show them off (I really do!!) but I know how hard it can be to forget what (for lack of a better word) regular ol’ bodies look like when everyone looks bonkers amazing.”

Teigen then admitted that she doesn’t really call this “‘body confidence’ because I’m not quite there yet.”

“I’m still super insecure. I’m just happy that I can make anyone else out there feel better about themselves!” she said.

Throughout her pregnancy and following the birth of her son, Teigen has been completely open and honest about the changes to her body - including the need to wear postpartum underwear and the realities of breastfeeding.

“Thank you so much for being normal!” one woman thanked the model.
