Chrissy Teigen’s mother has dedicated her new cookbook to her daughter’s late son Jack, who died during pregnancy.

Vilailuck “Pepper” Teigen, who lives with Teigen and her husband John Legend, as well as the couple’s two children, disclosed the sweet gesture in a new interview with WSJ Magazine, where she discussed the family’s ongoing grief over the loss of the child.

“We talk about him every day. Luna talks about him every day, and that’s how we grieve,” the 59-year-old said of her granddaughter, Luna, four. “We’re getting better each day…  We’re getting so much better, and Chrissy too.”

Teigen and Legend opened up about the loss of their third child at 20 weeks of pregnancy in September.

In October, the model’s mother paid tribute to her late grandson on Instagram, where she shared a video of herself kissing the baby in the hospital after his birth.

“My heart aches, love you so much baby Jack,” the cookbook author wrote at the time.

During the interview, Pepper, who grew up in Thailand before moving to Washington with the Cravings author’s father, also revealed that her daughter was the inspiration behind her new cookbook, The Pepper Thai Cookbook: Family Recipes From Everyone’s Favorite Thai Mom.

“[Chrissy] put a lot of trust in me and told me that I was the best cook and that I need to write these recipes down,” she told the outlet. “And I’m so glad she did. So now I have a book and something that I can pass down to her, Luna and Miles.”

The book’s dedication, which also includes tributes to Pepper’s own parents, comes after Teigen recently opened up about struggling to come to terms with never being pregnant again.

Speaking to People for the magazine’s Beautiful Issue, the 35-year-old said: “Coming to terms with not being able to carry again is still really difficult for me because I feel so healthy. I’m like, why? But then I think about it as my uterus is just not cooperating with me - and it’s not a failure.”
